Why writing helps

A lot of the time, we tend to have several thoughts that are stationed in our minds – thoughts that we would like to share with the world. Some of us might even think about original fictional stories.
Mostly, though, such thoughts and ideas stay rooted within us. Possible reasons for that could be that we’re not confident enough to put the story out there or maybe we feel we do not have any appropriate platform to express ourselves.
Well, one thing that we must remember is that it is not necessary to write for the world to see. You can just note down your thoughts for yourself by maintaining a journal. You might be wondering what’s the point if you aren’t showcasing your work? According to experts, journaling can have a positive impact on a person’s mental health, and that’s a good reason as any to get started.
Over time, if you feel comfortable about sharing your thoughts with others, then you can start doing so. A few decades earlier, this was easier said, than done. The only way you could have written an article back was by getting it printed in a newspaper or magazine. But that’s no longer the case.
These days, thanks to how big the internet has become, you have the opportunity to start your blog or website. If you aren’t breaking any rules, nothing is stopping you from doing so.
There are several websites where you can open a blog for free and start penning down your thoughts. While there are a lot of people who might judge the progress of such a venture by the number of hits that the blog page gets, that need not necessarily be the measure of your success. As mentioned earlier, you could improve your mental health by writing, so it’s not necessary to write just for the sake of receiving accolades.
Today happens to be Young Writer’s Day – a great day to encourage people around you to begin writing! While doing so, it might also be the perfect time for you to get started too.
