Meet Your Candidates: Juveriya Samreen
SRC 23- School of Arts and Social Sciences

My name is Juveriya Samreen. As the motto of CBU goes “Perseverance Will Triumph” which has been very relevant to my journey at CBU last year. Staying far away from family for the first time in my life in hope of good education and good future was a huge challenge. This challenge created an opportunity to step up and create a voluntary support system for myself and my fellow college mates. A system where one can openly discuss the pertinent issue of the students on campus and address it with the best possible solution. During my second semester, I was formally elected as the Student Representative Council (SRC) for the School of Arts and Social Sciences in October 2022. Then in a very short duration of time, I helped students to secure accommodation around the university campus, in other program-related issues and also tutored my classmates. Besides this, I volunteer for the Red Cross. I’ve been part of different committees such as the election act review committee, remuneration committee and investment committee. I’ve also been appointed as SRC representative for the Caper Times Publishing Board and the Executive of Finance and Operations for CB-MSA. A few weeks ago, I’ve been elected as the chairperson of the Student Representative Counciland I am also on the student advisory council to the Dean. These small yet significant efforts to be helpful to fellow university students motivated me to create a purpose-driven approach for the greater good delivering meaningful impact. I am passionate about my studies in public administration and social sciences. The essence of my studies is making day-to-day life better for all contributors within the ecosystem of the university integrating and contributing to the society around it.I want to show by example the relevance and practical application of knowledge that is taught in the class. Theleadership skills we acquire through our studies make us solutions providers who are empathetic to the needs of people around us.
