Get With the Times: Caper Times to host fundraiser due to Students’ Union budget cuts

As many of you have heard, CBU’s Students’ Union has been faced with some difficult decisions this year in terms of budget cuts. Here at the Caper Times we were lucky enough to remain open and have only suffered a budget reduction of approximately three thousand dollars which we have decided to raise ourselves. Our budget at the Caper Times is used to pay our editors and reporters along with covering the costs of printing and distribution.

After cutting a position and collecting donations over the summer, we have managed to reduce our fundraising goal to approximately one thousand dollars – and we need your help! Along with selling advertisements in our bi-weekly paper, we will be hosting several fundraisers throughout the year, the first of which will be held next week.

On Friday, September 18, Caper Times is hosting a rave at the Pit Lounge! Join us from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am with music by DJ Majestic. This is a 19+ event and your five dollar cover charge will directly help the Caper Times stay on our feet this year. It’s going to be a great night and we hope to see you there!
